Greyhound

A recipe for a cocktail with the name "Greyhound" appears inHarper's Magazine in 1945 (volume 191, page 461) thus: "The cocktails were made of vodka, sugar, and canned grapefruit juice – a greyhound. This cocktail was served at Greyhound's popular restaurant chain that was located Atbus terminals, called 'Post House'."

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ ounces gin
  • 3 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • Rim with Rosemary Grapefruit Infused Salt
  • Garnish: Grapefruit Wedge & fresh Rosemary sprig

Directions

  1. Rim your glass by swirling a slice of lime wedge or grapefruit around the top of your glass then spin the rim of your glass in your Rosemary Grapefruit Infused Salt.

  2. Fill a glass with ice.

  3. Place the gin, grapefruit juice, and syrup in a cocktail shaker with 4 ice cubes and shake until cold. Strain into your rimmed glass.

  4. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge and sprig of fresh rosemary. Serve and enjoy!
