"An easy way to change up an old favorite"
An Old Fashioned is a classic cocktail, almost too easy to make, but even better to enjoy. By swapping the simple syrup for maple syrup it changes the flavor of the entire drink. You can customize it even more by using Black Walnut or Tobacco bitters in place of classic Angostura bitters.
Maple Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
2 ounces bourbon or rye
3–4 dashes Angostura (or Orange) bitters
1/2 teaspoon maple syrup
ice
Garnish with orange peel and cherry
Rim with Candied Pecan Sugar Rimmer
Directions:
Rim your glass by swirling a some maple syrup around top of your glass then spin the rim of your glass in your Candied Pecan Sugar Rimmer.
Add the bourbon, bitters, and maple syrup to the glass, and briefly stir to combine. Add the ice, then briefly stir the drink one more time to mix and chill.
Strain into your rimmed glass.
Give the orange peel a good twist above the glass to release its oils, then tuck it into the drink. Add a cherry and serve immediately.
Serve and enjoy!
