Jalapeño Paloma

"A spicy twist on a traditional Paloma will have your tastebuds tingling with delight."

This recipe calls for homemade jalapeño simple syrup - but don't let that step deter you from making this sweet and spicy cocktail. Using a mezcal brings a smoky flavor to the drink, but you can always use your tequila of choice!

Jalapeño Paloma

Ingredients for the Jalapeño Simple Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 2 jalapeños, corsely chopped

Directions for Simple Syrup:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature, about 15 mins. Strain and reserve.

  1. Rim your glass or bottle by swirling a lime wedge around the top of your glass or bottle, then spin the rim in a bowl or plate of your Rimmer.

  2. Combine all the simple syrup, lime juice, mezcal and grapefruit juice over ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and pour into two rimmed glasses.

  3. Top with club soda.

  4. Garnish with a fresh grapefruit wedge and jalapeño slices.

  5. Serve it up and enjoy it!
